Meet your optometrist

Caring for the way you see the world.

For more than a decade, I've spent my days doing one thing I never tire of: helping people see clearly. It still moves me — the moment a child reads the bottom line of a chart for the first time, the quiet relief on a parent's face, the patient who realises the headaches were never "just stress." Vision is deeply personal. Behind every prescription is a person trying to read a grandchild's text, drive home safely after dark, or simply look up and take in the city.

My approach is unhurried and honest. I'd rather sit with you a few minutes longer and explain exactly what I'm seeing than rush you through and hand over a slip of paper. No jargon for its own sake, no upselling you into lenses you don't need — just a clear picture of your eye health and straightforward options for what comes next. Patients tell me they leave understanding their own eyes for the first time. That, to me, is the whole point.

Nairobi is home, and this clinic sits right in the heart of it — at Utalii House in the CBD. I love that we're walkable, central, and woven into the rhythm of the city we serve. People come to us between meetings, after school runs, on their lunch breaks. Eye care shouldn't be a luxury you schedule for "someday"; it should fit into the life you're already living.

Adal Eye Clinic carries a name people in this city already trust — built over years by Prof. H.S. Adala. As the practice passes into my hands, I see my job as a custodian's: protect what made this place special, and gently bring it into the present. Same care, same heart — with a renewed commitment to making every visit feel personal.

If you've been putting off an eye check, consider this your gentle nudge. Your vision is worth an hour of your time — and it's our priority from the moment you walk in.
